Make a Splash

This workshop blends dance with environmental awareness. Students start by watching LITA creation, award winning, short film Choked 2.0. Starring Royal Ballet star Edward Watson MBE, and discussing its themes of plastic pollution and the environment. Through guided movement tasks, the students create their own performance responses.

OBJECTIVES

✭ Screen and discuss Choked 2.0 and its themes of plastic pollution and environmental responsibility.

✭ Guide students to create movement-based responses inspired by the film.

✭ Support students in developing their own live performance exploring sustainability.

OUTCOME

Students gain a deeper understanding of sustainability, an appreciation for the power of art as activism, and the skills to express complex ideas through movement and performance.

The aim is to show how art can spark change. Students leave the session with not only stronger performance skills but also a powerful sense of their role in protecting the planet.
